I rather like the current single, Spellbound, which I listened to on repeat yesterday. I have to say that I definitely like the new album better than Karmacode, partly because it doesn't give me a headache to listen to it. Wide Awake and Shallow Life are good songs. I'll have to listen to the album a few more times, but so far I like it. Maybe I'll actually go see them on this tour if they play around here. Current Mood: Current Music: Lacuna Coil - Wide Awake June 11th, 2009May 27th, 2009: Character Song Meme What song would you put on a soundtrack for Nikka or Zelerian? Current Mood: Current Music: Paramore - Decode May 21st, 2009: Severed Fate I just wanted to share this bit of silliness. It is a short, but uplifting tale. I call it "The Running of the Ponycorns". The ponycorns' fates were severed and lo did they run free, ridden by a man of fiery temper and a soldier of Gwyneth on to sparklier shores. Here you can see the illustration for this magnificent tale. And despite what certain people may claim, *nothing* happens on sparklier shores. Current Mood: May 20th, 2009: Company We Keep This session of Aralis was mostly the opposite of last session. Instead of being super depressing, large parts of it were very good for Nikka. I was very surprised that we managed to free Vargir. I really didn’t expect that to go so well. As always, I had a lot of great interactions with Pixies are so bouncy and colorful and happy and OMG are going to die the next time they come around. I enjoyed going around and talking to people about the upcoming trial, particularly the somewhat awkward conversation with No matter when I went to bed, I kept waking up around 7 and couldn’t go back to sleep so I would just get up and go down to the shrine. So I only got 3 and 4 hours of sleep each night for absolutely no good reason. I really need to relearn sleeping in. I also had a really hard time eating anything and had to force myself to eat, which is extremely unusual for me. It was probably a combination of anxiety and sleep deprivation. I think The four hour rift fight was crazy and a couple hours in I was really tired of being unconscious every few minutes. Although, being tossed into the rift to fight chainfaces by myself was pretty exciting as was being part of the frenzied wall of Virankans. I finally used my howl for the first time in a really long time and it worked, if briefly. It’s really hard to howl softly so I wonder if I caught some people I shouldn’t have, but then I did warn people. The next session is so far away... Current Mood: May 10th, 2009:
I've been practicing using my digital tablet to draw things in Photoshop. It's somewhat frustrating and much harder than pencil and paper. Coloring things in is much more fun though. I was inspired by the last session of Logos to draw a picture of Zelerian and Izzi's duet, which came out okay. I also drew a picture of the ninja on his stealth bicycle: [ ]. Saturday I saw Star Trek, which was much better than I expected it to be. Spock was awesome. I am not quite familiar enough with the original show and its characters to be able to compare it or be really offended by any differences. It was an action movie and the plot wasn't that great, but the characters were interesting at least. There were some funny lines in there. Also, Kobayashi Maru. Hilarious. I actually want to watch it again. Current Mood: Current Music: Within Temptation - Somewhere (ft. I will tell you the origin of his/her/its name. 2. I will tell you (up to) five random facts surrounding his/her/its creation. 3. I will give you a random fact of his/her/its backstory. 4. I may give one random fact about the character's future plans/goals. 5. I'll answer some random questions about the character or their past actions. Current Music: Conjure One - Centre of the Sun November 12th, 2008June 27th, 2008: Books "The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed." 1) Look at the list and bold those you have read. 2) Italicize those you intend to read. 3) Underline the books you LOVE. 3.5) Strikethrough those that you tried to read, but couldn't finish out of boredom or frustration. 4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-) ( Book List ) June 19th, 2008: Some Random Things * Eating yogurt with a fork is a bit of a challenge. * White colored pencil does show up on paper. * I dislike working late with no particular goal in mind. * I think I might be mildly allergic to cats. * In less than a month I'll be a quarter of a century old. * My cat likes to play chubby bunny with her kibble. Current Mood: June 13th, 2008: Rock Band Poll When playing Rock Band, with an admittedly very small sample size, it seems like more women choose to play the drums and men choose to play the guitar/bass. I'm curious whether this is really the case. If you play Rock Band, what instrument do you favor? I think I can guess at your genders. As for me, I'm just a weirdo who likes to sing so I don't count. ;)
Current Mood: Current Music: Abney Park - Twisted and Broken May 14th, 2008: Comments Meme ( Who comments the most on this journal? ) Current Music: Breaking Benjamin - Breath May 6th, 2008: There were Vikings and boats and plans for a furniture store. Dear Deva Victrix GMs, I've decided to drop my current character and create a new one. Ingirun will be a Viking since there has been an alarming decline in the number of Vikings. Her haven will be located beneath her furniture shop, which will also serve Viking delicacies. Due to the recent decline of available mortal labor, the furniture will require some skill in carpentry on the part of the customer. When business starts to get slow, buildings will conveniently burn down and thus be in need of new furnishings. Thanks, TheStealthyOne Current Mood: April 28th, 2008:
I can't decide if this robot is really neat or really creepy. Edit: I'd also like to mention that it lives in Waltham. ;) April 25th, 2008: Exclamation Friday It's Friday! I'm doing unit testing! I hate unit testing! A lot! Please send help! Or tell me something interesting! Or not interesting! Comments screened! Current Mood: April 23rd, 2008: Aralis I had a fantastic time at Aralis. I got some completely unexpected personal plot, which was awesome. Everything just went so well for Nikka, which surprised me a lot, because this is Aralis after all. She participated in a ritual that actually ended extremely well, Vargir got away, and she didn't end up dead. As always, I had a good time interacting with the wolves. Thanks beled_el_djinn and psychotropek. Unfortunately there were some things I forgot to ask, but I will next time. Even though I didn't really have a direct hand in the ritual to fix Vargir, I am reasonably satisfied with my role in it since I orchestrated the acquisition of the components for it. I think that's the most money Nikka's ever spent before. I enjoyed the brief but numerous interactions with inadvertantsmut, especially the one where I was silenced but trying to comfort her. Being silenced can occasionally make things more awesome. But I still say stupid shadow demon. =P There were some things I regret not doing or thought I could have handled better. Hopefully next time I'll do better. Sunday morning after waking up to find everyone else down and the building overrun by undead, it was very satisfying to get a moment to unload everything I had on the panther when he was trying to inflict a friend, not that it got me anywhere but unconscious on the floor again. I was amused by the three separate invitations to stay in the Imperial School Girl cabin that I received, especially when funwithrage chimed in that there might even be hair braiding involved and bitsyboo (I think?) asked her if she was trying to convince me to stay or drive me away. I may yet take them up on that offer and I'm sure that hilarity will ensue. Also, it seems like I spent a lot of time playing charades with other characters who were silenced. I was really bad at figuring out what they were trying to say. "What? Vargir ran off with Danny's hat?" ;) Given that many people seemed to have trouble finding the roads leading to the site, I have to say that I love my GPS, a lot. It got me there without any problems. Also, thank you whatkyndylan and russiandude for helping me stay awake on the way home. I almost fell asleep a few times, but I made it safely. Sadly, I won't be able to make it to more than part of the next session if at all due to Kiddens' graduation and his family being here. Current Mood: April 16th, 2008: Thou shalt not cover thy neighbor's ox I saw Eddie Izzard last night. We had very good seats. The first half of the show wasn't as good as the second half and I had a hard time hearing what he was saying. It was still worth seeing though because the second half was very funny. I just wish I could remember more of the funnier lines. "What are you down here for? Covering an ox with a blanket." In the past week, I've been very grateful for my new talking magic box (GPS). I even figured out how to make it stop telling me that I'm speeding because it's only funny the first five times. Also, buying my own nerf gun was a very necessary investment. I will end by saying that I am very excited about this weekend. Current Mood: Current Music: Paramore - Crush Crush Crush April 3rd, 2008: Cat found!!! Two posts in a day!
